Dance Show with Unitree G1 Robots on Stage

What a dance! This is the best live dance show featuring humans and robots that I have ever seen.

China isn’t just showcasing impressive research — it’s making it entertaining, too.

China has officially entered its “hold my tea” era of robotics. At a Wang Leehom concert in Chengdu, six Unitree G1 humanoid robots performed as full background dancers — complete with synchronized choreography and outfits that shone as brightly as the human performers’. Videos of the spectacle spread rapidly across the internet.

Why this matters (and why it’s funny)

China isn’t just building humanoid robots — it’s putting them on stage in front of 18,000 people and letting them steal the show. The result is equal parts futuristic and comedic for me: imagine a robot doing a perfect Webster flip while wearing pants.
