About the Author

I am an experienced computer expert with 20 years’ experience in software development, testing and release management, and a background in physics. As a problem solver, I enjoy developing and sharing ideas with my colleagues and a broader audience.

Currently, in my DevOps role at a cloud provider, I develop services and connect the dots. My responsibilities include development, operation, and monitoring, as well as testing, documentation, and support. I use open standards and open-source tools such as Git, Ansible, Python, Proxmox, Netbox, Prometheus, Linux, KVM, and Docker, and I employ best practices and current methods. I am a core developer and I am responsible for CI/CD pipelines, Netbox (Django), and Ansible including development of playbooks and plugins. My current project is the introduction of Prometheus monitoring to achieve higher modernity and stability, and more accurate cost estimates for customers.

In the past, I have worked as a programmer and researcher in various institutions, as well as consulting on machine learning, prototyping, automation, data protection and privacy. I often bridged the gap between development, DevOps, and ML. Furthermore, I worked with Machine Learning models of supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement types. Modeling work included lifetime value prediction, stochastic models, and evolutionary models. I studied evolutionary models and non-convex optimization.
